Yes, we at truropeople are well aware that Chinese New Year* fell on February 3rd.  Our apologies, we were busy reporting on the new police crime website, and the depressing finances at Royal Cornwall Hospital, or the (seemingly unpopular) barriers at Truro Train Station.  So now, a little late (but just in time for Valentine’s Day) we give you our rundown of where to grab Chinese food around town.

Restaurants

There are more than half a dozen Chinese Restaurants listed in Truro, according to our directory at least.  Just click the link for the full list, but in terms of what you guys think, one restaurant towers above the rest – Xen Noodle Bar, with more than ten 4/5 star reviews.  For those looking to travel a little out of town, the award winning Eastern Promise in Grampound is very well regarded also.  While if you’re in a bit more of a rush, Jade Palace is one of the best rated takeaways.

Remedies

Those of you seeking ‘traditional Chinese remedies’ may be disappointed.  In Truro, the only thing that comes even close would be the Mitchell Hill Clinic, which sells a whole host of alternative medicines.  Failing that, for something more simple (and admittedly less Chinese) like yogurt coated banana, just try Holland and Barrett.

Have your say.

What is your favourite Chinese restaurant in Truro?  How about herbal remedies?  Are they your cup of tea, or a load of hocus pocus?

***Incidentally, for those of you who are interested, 2011 is the year of the rabbit.
