Auditions for Robinson Crusoe & The Cornish Pirates at Hall for Cornwall

The auditions will take place at Hall for Cornwall on Sunday, September 25, with registration beginning at 9.30am for a 10am start.

We will be looking for two teams of 10 children plus 2 reserves. During the run of the panto the children will probably be required on alternate days or for alternate performances. Precise requirements will be given to parents at the audition.

The essential requirement is that any child must be at least eight years old and not reach their 16th birthday before January 7, 2012. There is no requirement to rehearse anything specific in preparation.

Ian Liston, of Hiss & Boo, said: "All those attending the audition will be given a chance to show what they can do with regard to singing, dancing and overall stage ability. We will be looking for 'personality' just as much as 'performance.'"

Sounds like a lot of fun - loving the idea of a Cornish themed panto. Is it really just as simple as turning up? I have nephews and nieces who would love it, but their singing is, well, lets say its iffy

It is pretty competetive and we do get quite a few young people who want to take part. However the audition is open to all and we try to make it a fun experience so if its something they would enjoy (and they are available for the panto run) by all means come along and give it a go. Singing is a part of the show but mostly in a chorus so if they can sing as part of a group they shouldn't be put off from auditioning.
