Truro School's Under 18 Boys' Hockey Team has become the County Champions following a match against Truro College.

The match was the first of the season and the team were trying out a new 5, 3, 2 formation. This was an attacking formation which meant if the boys played in their positions it was going to be difficult for the opposition to break through.

The first half took a little while to settle and the half time score was 0-1 to Truro College. The Truro School boys struggled to keep in the new positions and started to play very defensively for the rest of the half.

In the second half one of the Truro College players was sent off for throwing their stick which seemed to help the other team fit back into formation with more ease. They then managed to get a goal back before one of their players was yellow carded and sent off.

The final whistle result was 1-1 so the game went to extra time. During the added minutes, the Truro School formation started to work well and some excellent hockey was played.

Another three goals were scored to make the final result 4-2 to Truro School. Rob Hodge and Andy Munro-Lott both scored two goals each and man-of the-match was given to Captain Nick Byrne for his work-ethic and distribution of the ball.
