The children at Truro based Independent School, Polwhele House, held a special event to thank their mums and grandmas last Friday.

On Friday March 8, children from aged three to 13 helped to serve a Mother's Day tea after school in the new dining room and then presented their mums and grandmas with posies of flowers.

30 mums and 6 grandmas attended the event, with 40 children.

Mum of Isabella, Tina Davis, said:

"It was a lovely afternoon and such a treat to be served tea by all of the children.  The flowers were a lovely touch and it was a special Mother's Day."

One of the children, Vivienne said:

"My mum looks after me, so I enjoyed looking after her for a nice change.  Spoiling my mum, along with my friends, was great fun."

Headmaster of Polwhele House, Alex McCullough, enjoyed the afternoon saying:

"All of the children were fantastic and the mums and grandmas had a wonderful time.  I wanted to thank all of the children and parents who made it possible."
