As our poll suggests so far, many of you see the Queen's Diamond Jubilee as a great excuse for an extra Bank Holiday, and although the results don't say much about our flag waving patriotism, there are a lot of events in Truro to keep you entertained.

Events in Truro for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee
Diamond Jubilee Farmers Market @ Lemon Quay
- Date: 11-12 May
- Cost: Whatever you want to spend!
- Jubilee Fun
Truro hosts a regular farmers market, which is always well received. Now the Lemon Quay regular undertakes a festive tone, with even more stands (in excess of 60 independent retailers!) as well as music and entertainers throughout the day.
Sparkle Under the Spire @ Truro Cathedral
- Date: 25 May
- Cost: £100
- Jubilee Fun
The Cathedral nave will be cleared to make way for more than thirty tables. The elegant location will play host to some of the chefs (and recent graduates) from Watergate Bay's Fifteen Cornwall. Head chef Andy Appleton is devising a special menu for the occasion. Although a steep price, this is a three course dinner at the grandest location in Cornwall.
Jubilee Jamboree @ Lemon Quay
- Date: 2 June
- Cost: £0
- Jubilee Fun
A good old fashioned knees up, this is the biggest Diamond Jubilee event in Truro. Right outside the Hall for Cornwall, long tables will be set up and people are invited to bring along their favourite cup and saucer to join the party (for a small voluntary donation). Entertainment will be provided by Camborne Youth Band, poet Sally Crabtree and the Duchy Ballet.
Part 2 coming soon, with a breakdown of pub based Diamond Jubilee activities.
Have your say.
Are there any events happening that we've missed? Tell us what you'll be doing for the Diamond Jubilee, or why not cast a vote in one of our polls?
