Staff,
family and friends at a fantastic childcare facility in St Agnes have been busy
during the autumn months ensuring the sun shines through the winter.
The team
at Hurly Burly Day Nursery has given the outdoor space a huge facelift and now
the walls are awash with fun and colourful images such as musical instruments,
seaside scenes and even a garage to park toy cars.
Based on
an old farm, the nursery has a large outdoor area, which is now filled with a
range of new play equipment.
Owner of
Hurly Burly, Clare Berry, said: "After weeks of hard work we're pleased to say
the outdoor space at Hurly Burly is now finished. It looks brilliant and I want
to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make it look so good.
"Most
importantly the children love what we've done and that's the biggest reason for
doing it in the first place."
Getting
children playing outside in the fresh air is important to the team at the
nursery. All toddlers can access the garden, bikes and scooters thanks to the
nursery's freeflow system, which encourages any children who benefit
educationally by spending more time outside to do so.
Despite
investing money in the outdoor space at Hurly Burly, Clare is adamant about
keeping the cost of childcare as low as possible.
Every new
family is entitled to the first week free of charge and the nursery has a no
fee settling and registration period so parents can look around and register
with no upfront costs.
Clare
said: "There is so much in the news at the moment about the rising costs of
childcare, the possibility of child benefit being capped and so on. We
understand that parents need to be able to afford to put their children into
nursery in order to return to work and so we're always looking for ways at
reducing costs.
"Offering
the first week free is our way of encouraging families to experience our facilities
before committing themselves financially, as we're so confident they'll love it
here and want to stay."
Jo, a parent
of two children at Hurly Burly, added: "Even though it's the best nursery
locally, it is very competitive on price and makes it affordable for me to
work. This is really important to my family and many of the families I know."
