Have I Got Brews For You?

No, it's not a new show on Dave, but maybe it should be (if anyone knows the commissioning editor.)  It's actually a chance to test out your beer tasting skills and at the same time raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

On Friday, September 28 The Driftwood Spars in St Agnes will be offering teams the chance to go head to head and test their beer tasting prowess.

Louise Treseder, landlady of the Driftwood Spars explains. "We are very active supporters of the Cornwall Air Ambulance and really wanted to do something fun to support their 'Fund a Flight Week.'

"We thought, everyone loves a pint and a quiz so why not combine them."

Teams will be given tasting notes for various beers and will then have to match the beer to the description in a blind taste test.

"You don't need to be a connoisseur at all."  Adds Louise, "In fact non-beer drinkers often do better at blind tasting than die hard ale quaffers."

Teams of four are being encouraged to enter and the pub will be offering a special room rate for any participants where a designated driver isn't forthcoming.

"We would really like to see local businesses get involved and enter teams"  says Louise.

"It's on a Friday night, so most people won't have to get up for work in the morning."

Paula Martin Chief Executive of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust explained what Fund A Flight Week is "Essentially it's a week of fundraising events for the Air Ambulance between Monday, September 24 and Sunday, September 30.

"Whilst the sun has been absent for much of the summer, the Air Ambulance has been as busy as ever, continuing to fly missions and save lives.

"Events such as 'Have I Got Brews For You?' really do provide much needed fund to ensure the service is available all year round, when people need it."
