Fun, fun, fun will be the order of the day at Truro Rugby Club this Sunday (12th May) as competitors and spectators come together for Children's Hospice South West's It's a Charity Knockout event.
Twenty-seven teams are expected to bounce, run and slide in the ultimate team challenge cheered on by family and friends, and anyone looking for a great day out!
Entertainment for the kids includes a bouncy castle, laser tag, trampoline bungee, teacups ride, face-painting, messy play and an appearance from Chloe the Clown. Whilst for big kids there are plenty of stalls, games and refreshments including candyfloss, cream teas, ice cream, barbeque, and a bar. Not to mention all the fun of joining in with the cheer leaders to support the teams who will be dressing up in silly costumes, throwing themselves around inflatable obstacle courses, and getting soaked as they get stuck into all manner of whacky games.
Sarah Stott, Events Organiser for Children's Hospice South West's Little Harbour children's hospice, says:
"This is a new and very exciting event for us. We are delighted that so many teams have signed up and hope that lots of people will join us to cheer them along and enjoy a fantastic day out for the whole family. There is stacks going on!
"At Little Harbour we are very much about giving families with life-limited children the opportunity to enjoy precious time together. This is a great way for people to come together and help us continue to provide this wonderful, and much-needed, respite service."
Teams taking on the It's a Charity Knockout challenge include Polymermedics from St Austell who have also kindly sponsored the event to ensure that every penny raised goes directly to helping local families.
Other teams taking part are Asda Penryn, Coodes Solicitors, Cornish Mutual, DPD, Duchy Hockey Club, Enterprise Rent a Car, Fluid Branding, Fugro Seacore, Happy Days Nursery, HSBC Launceston, Insite Digital, Midas Construction, Pipex Ltd, Pottery Pre-school, Roseland Gig Club, Smith & Reed Recruitment, The Money Group, a community group from Bodmin, a group of teachers, and members of Little Harbour's very own care team . They have all been busy fundraising and obtaining sponsorship in aid of Children's Hospice South West, with extra points being awarded on the day for the teams who have raised the biggest total so far.
Once all the games are finished and the scores added up, the teams will find out who is the It's a Charity Knockout champion, with Miss Cornwall on hand to give out the awards.
Cheer on the teams and join in the fun for the whole family! It's a Charity Knockout takes place at Truro Rugby Club on Sunday 12th May, from 11am – 4pm.
