The Fal River Autumn Walking Festival is set to return for its third year with an expanded including other events such as a charity walk and film screening.

Taking place between Friday, October 18 and Sunday, November 3, the festival is being sponsored once again by The Nare Hotel.

Over the two weeks, which includes half-term, there will be a range of self-guided walks which will be available in a downloadable PDF format from the Fal River website; and some guided walks.

Fal River Cornwall marketing manager, Tommy Tonkins, said: "We're really excited to be organising the Fal River Autumn Walking festival once again.

"It's a great opportunity for people to get out, have a good walk and enjoy some fantastic autumnal weather.

"The festival also provides a great bookend to the Fal River Festival, which always kicks the season off with style."

The guided walks include Nordic walking and foraging, while a charity walk for Target Ovarian Cancer will take place on Saturday, October 26.

There will also be a special screening of the hit Pixar movie, Monsters University, on the King Harry Ferry on Thursday, October 31.

Tommy added: "We thought Monsters University would be a great film to show on Halloween and one that families can enjoy.

"Hopefully it shouldn't be too spooky out on the King Harry Ferry in the middle of the river!"

Other events planned for the festival include spooky tours of Pendennis Castle, Halloween workshops at National Maritime Museum Cornwall, tours of Trebah Garden and seasonal cookery course at Philleigh Way.
