Six students received at least an A* grade in their GCSEs this year and fifteen subjects achieved 50% of their grades at A* or A, proving another excellent year for GCSEs at Truro School.
Delighted Truro School student Chris Smith with his mum after getting two As, six Bs and two Cs.
Best friends, Truro School students Ned Warne (one A*, four As and five Bs) and Josie Arter (three A*s, six As and one B).
Truro School students Matt Pitman (nine A*s and two As) and Tom Thorogood (seven A*s, two As and one B).
95% of the GCSE grades were between and A* and C, and 10% of the 133 candidates achieved eight or more A*s.
Headmaster, Paul Smith said, "At a time when there is national concern about possible declining achievements in Science and Mathematics, Truro School is delighted to announce outstanding results in GCSE and IGCSE, with over two thirds of the 120 candidates in Biology, Physics and Chemistry gaining A* or A grades; and 75 out of 133 students achieved an A* or A in their Mathematics."
Mr Smith added, "The breadth of education for these true Renaissance boys and girls was further evident with 100% pass rate in Art and Music and half of the 59 candidates in Physical Education gaining an A* or A grades. And the school's long established commitment to Languages was endorsed today as well with over half of the students gaining A* or A grade in Spanish, German or French. I applaud the hard work and commitment of the staff and diligence of the students."
