Beaches Hotting Up For Firewalk

Children's Hospice South West is excited to announce that they will be holding an invigorating Firewalk on Marazion Beach on Wednesday 16th October.
The local children's charity is inspiring people to take on this incredible challenge to achieve the impossible and walk on fire.
Those taking part will walk on hot coals with temperatures of up to 800 ˚C. The oldest recorded Firewalk took place over 4000 years ago in India and this challenge is still being taken on by brave people across the world today.
Event Fundraiser, at Little Harbour, Sarah Stott says, "We are really excited to be holding a Firewalk event at Marazion. With the spectacular St Michael's Mount lit up in the background, it really will be an evening not to be missed. We are looking for 50 local people who are ready to face their fears and walk across hot embers on the beach, instead of taking the usual paddle! Places are limited, so I would urge anyone who is interested in taking part to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee their place!"
Friends and family are invited to come along and enjoy the evening where there will be food available from the Godolphin Arms, as well as music and entertainment on the beach, before encouraging loved ones to make the walk across those hot coals.
Those taking part must register beforehand which costs only £20 and are then asked to pledge to raise a minimum of £125 from sponsorship. All sponsorship received will go towards the care given to local families using Little Harbour.
Little Harbour is one of Children's Hospice South West's three hospices in Porthpean near St Austell. It costs in the region of £2 million per year in running costs alone to keep Little Harbour open and events like this are a huge step toward managing this. Offering a "home from home" environment safe in the knowledge that highly-qualified, palliative care professionals are on hand, allows peace of mind and respite opportunities for the whole family, often for many years.
